Vastramangal Pedal Operated Loom – 45 inch Panna

The Vastramangal Pedal Loom was developed by studying the various frame loom models in use and working through the shortcomings khadi weavers had experienced with them over the years. It is designed so that the weaver gets adequate employment and the customer gets good cloth, and the pick gear system prevents the weaving being spoilt by mistake.

This model

• Weaving width (panna): 45 inches
• Supplied with a matched reed, heald and aluminium frame set for this width
• Crated for transport; packing is included in the price
• Delivery anywhere in India is included in the price

Special features

• Built entirely of iron and cast iron, so weather has no effect on it
• Operated by the feet, so the weaving shuttle moves automatically
• Gear driven pick system — the weft picks required in the cloth are set by selecting the appropriate pick gear (28T, 32T, 34T, 36T, 40T, 42T and 44T supplied as change gears)
• Santari set fitted, so the cloth wound onto the loom beam does not become loose
• Weaves 10 to 20 metres of cloth in 8 hours, depending on the panna and count of the cloth
• Made in different sizes for different cloth widths — also available in 56 inch and 66 inch panna
